Mary’s
paintings have been influenced by exposure to different cultures and
sights when traveling. She takes many, many digital photos which serve
as inspiration and information while composing her paintings. Sometimes
several reference photos are combined to create one composition, other
times one photograph is so completely expressive that it alone serves as
inspiration; however photo-realism is not the artist's goal. Other
paintings evolve totally from the imagination. Studying under a variety
of local and nationally-recognized artists has given her fresh insights
and abilities to portray what she has experienced. She feels that her
art is not only self-expression, but also the passion to share a
vision.
Mary's
work is on exhibit at the Artists' Guild Gallery of Anna Maria Island in
Holmes Beach, FL; Studio 1212 Gallery in Clearwater, FL; and at Grecko
Grill in Madeira Beach, FL..
